Useful Review: Admirable choice for EDC.
Out of my tiny collection of about six fold knives (two Kershaw’s and four Spyderco’s), the ZDP Stretch is by far the sharpest out of the box. It truly glides through transcript paper, in part because of the steel, but mostly due to the leaf geometry (very thin, full level ground and a shoal edge difference of direction compared to say a Manix 2). It’s so trenchant I worry I’ll ever be practical to reacquire such an cutting side after my mediocre sharpening skills.
I usually tender G10 scales to FRN, but the clasp on this knife isn’t glib in the least and inspires belief with it’s textured archetype. The ergonomics are gigantic, the steel is some of the newest on the emporium and the price (at around $89 when I bought mine) is first-rate compared to what some other knife companies are charging for arguably lower materials. Also I regard for Spyderco on the active involvement they have with their customers, be it through their court of justice or direct juxtaposition, they have rather exceptional patron service. ...
