Bring Back Buck

Yesterday, the Oakland A’s welcomed back one of their most good hitters in Eric Chavez, who, unfortunately, is filling in for the team’s most good hitter, Ingenuous Thomas, while Thomas is on the DL. I ponder this weekend would be a beneficial time to bear back another one of the A’s most parts offensive players, Travis Buck.

As you all see through, Buck got off to a terrible startle this season after a lackluster leap training. After start the year 0 for his first 20 or 21 at-bats, Buck was in a few words red-hot during the A’s first course versus Toronto, but before long thereafter saw his bat cool. He also was plagued by nagging injuries that caused Buck to be placed on the DL in slow April. Buck’s DL bound coincided with the A’s adding of Thomas. Ironically, now that the A’s will be without Thomas for the next 15-20 games, it makes it that much more material that Buck return to the A’s extended mark-up.

Admittedly, Buck did not gaze like a big union player when I saw him in Sacramento in mid-May. He was still obviously struggling to create solid junction and he appeared to be guessing at pitches rather than sight them. Since Mother’s Day weekend, however, Buck has gotten back into the furrow that got him to the big leagues less than two years after he was drafted. Since May 20, he is batting an even .500 in 38 at-bats for the Stream Cats, with three doubles, two triples and eight walks. He has also taken wrongfully three bases and appears to be completely over the tibia splints that landed him on the DL in the first square.

One of the areas that has injure the A’s the whole season has been the guide-off spot in the streak-up. Buck struggled there at the inception of the year, and those who have followed him into that speckle haven’t done much more excellent. On the year, the A’s have a 533 OPS from the guide-off spot, a full 100 points sink than any other spot in the extended mark-up. In my opinion, this has been the chief reason that the A’s have been so irreconcilable offensively this period of the year. If your top guy isn’t acquirement on-base, it truly neutralizes anything that the three-four-five guys have to proffer.
