Bambi and the ByPass
Some background on this column: The Exterior Banks has two roads once you are in Kitty Falcon, Kill The old serpent Hills, Nags Head. The Rim Road is the two alley road that fronts the sandy shore and the ByPass is the five narrow street road --two lanes each way and a winding lane.
The make haste limit on the Marge Road is 35 MPH and there are fewer close up lights and it is more dramatic. The ByPass has a make haste limit of 55 MPH and more stoplights and a lot more commerce. Depending on where you are going, and how go hungry you want to get there..........sometimes the Sandy shore Road is equitable as quick or only a few minutes slower.
I always, almost always anyway, take the Margin Road. However, last Thursday for some unascertained reason I headed for act using Hwy 158, the ByPass. I was impelling along at the speed frontier or slightly under since I had right pulled out onto the ByPass when all of a abrupt I saw a deer's head .........direct beside my side view looking-glass on driver's side. By the duration I realized what happened the deer had slammed into my car (on my side), then bounced off the head cover and onto the side of the road. I looked in the background view looking-glass and saw another deer crossing the ByPass. Then I looked and saw that my side scan mirror was gone.
Stunned.......I declared to myself "A deer just hit my car"........and since I was in exchange of commodities and do not have a cell phone (veritably, no cell phone) I kept driving money-drawer I reached Sun Immobility where my daughter works and stopped.
I slid out on the traveller side because I did not want to see deer vital current or worse sink on the ground if I opened my entrance and then walked around. My car was in bad create. Drivers entrance will not open, fender bashed in and of career, the mirror was totally gone and there are reasonable wires suspension our where it used to be.
One of the Sun Reality Sales agents flock me to work (express gratitude you Mike Davenport) and I then called the police and my security against loss...
